Sensitive skin needs more than just soft clothing. Remedywear™ is a TENCEL and zinc oxide clothing brand specifically designed to help soothe eczema-prone, itchy, and irritated skin using breathable TENCEL™ fabric blended with zinc embedded fibers.
Unlike traditional fabrics that can trap heat, increase friction, or irritate inflamed skin, Remedywear garments are designed to support the skin barrier while helping improve comfort day and night.
Our therapeutic zinc embedded clothing can be worn:
- during eczema or psoriasis flare ups
- overnight to help reduce scratching
- underneath everyday clothing
- during dry wrap or wet wrap therapy
- by babies, children, and adults with sensitive skin
Designed with sensitive skin in mind, Remedywear offers a wearable approach to skin comfort and protection.
What Makes Remedywear™ TENCEL and Zinc Oxide Fabric Different?
Remedywear is made from a specialized blend of:
- TENCEL™ (aka lyocell and modal)
- Smartcel™ Sensitive zinc oxide fabric
- recycled latex-free elastane for stretch and comfort
- organic cotton (socks only)
The fabric is soft, breathable, moisture wicking, and specifically designed for eczema-prone and sensitive skin.
Unlike synthetic fabrics that may trap heat and moisture, TENCEL clothing for eczema helps regulate temperature while remaining exceptionally smooth against irritated skin. Smartcel™ Sensitive fibers contain zinc oxide particles embedded directly into the fabric itself, allowing the zinc to remain effective even after repeated washing.
Here's why you'll love it:
- UV protection of 35-50 UPF with darker colors and damp materials providing the most protection.
- TENCEL and Zinc together are proven to reduce the severity of atopic dermatitis, reduce itchiness and improve the quality of sleep when worn overnight for a minimum of three consecutive nights.
- TENCEL is especially cooling and breathable, unlike synthetic materials like polyester and nylon in traditional UV clothing.
- TENCEL is smoother than cotton and softer than silk.
- Zinc is embedded in our fabric, not coated, and will last 100+ washings.
- Form fitting design ensures the skin benefits from therapeutic fabric.
- Works well worn dry or for wet wrapping.
- Soft, exterior tags can easily be removed.
- Hypoallergenic materials are Oeko-tex Standard 100 + Step by Oeko-tex certified.
- Free from chemicals, formaldehyde, nylon, nickel, and latex.
-
Sustainably produced from start to finish using European standards in Portugal.
- Doctor Approved
- Risk-Free 30 Day Money Back Guarantee
Clinically Studied for Eczema-Prone Skin
In a clinical study involving patients with atopic dermatitis, participants wearing garments made from the same TENCEL™ and zinc fiber blend experienced the following improvements when worn for 3 nights consecutively [1]:
- reduced itchiness
- improved sleep quality
- reduced eczema severity
- less redness and irritation
Another study showed similar improvements when the fibers were used in bedding.
Because itchy skin often worsens overnight, many people choose to wear Remedywear garments while sleeping to help reduce scratching and irritation.
Why Zinc Oxide Clothing Helps Sensitive Skin
Zinc oxide not only stops bacterial growth and blocks odor, but it’s also soothing to the
skin. Zinc oxide is actually an active ingredient in calamine, the stuff that goes into anti-itch soothing calamine lotion as well as countless creams for eczema, psoriasis, and other inflamed skin conditions. It can also be found in creams for diaper rash, which believe it or not is a form of dermatitis!
We use Smartcel™ Sensitive in our Remedywear™ zinc oxide garments because using zinc oxide for eczema has proven clinically effective in reducing flares [1] and since it offers many benefits for people with eczema and other sensitive skin conditions. Smartcel™ Sensitive clothing was tested with the following results:
- Improves the quality of sleep in people with itchy skin [1].
- Eliminates bacteria causing topical infections, including staph and MRSA [2]
- Eliminates bacteria causing odor, including staphylococcus epidermidis (smelly feet) and Corynebacterium jeikeium (body odor) [3]
- Reduction in bacteria causing candidiasis of the skin, including Candida albicans [4]
-
Eliminates fungus causing athlete's foot, including trichophyton interdigitale. [5]
We use zinc in our fabric instead of other antimicrobial agents because other nanoparticles that have been added as antimicrobial finishes to textile, like silver and chitosan, have the possibility of cross-reacting with skin, promoting resistant-strains of bacteria, and pose an ecological concern for particles that are not filtered by wastewater treatment after washes. Unlike silver or chitosan, zinc is a naturally occurring mineral (not a metal), approved for use in a number of products, from supplements to sunscreen. It does not get absorbed by the skin because it stays embedded in the fabric even after many washes.
Since zinc is embedded in Remedywear™, and not encapsulated or applied as a finish, is safe to use, even in babies and children. It does not come off the clothing or penetrate the skin, even irritated skin areas with eczema or atopic dermatitis flare-ups. Our eczema clothes are also safe to use on even the most delicate skin, including newborns and babies.
Why TENCEL™ Works Well for Sensitive Skin
TENCEL™ is an exceptionally soft, breathable fabric that helps keep sensitive skin cooler and more comfortable. Softer than silk and smoother than cotton, the fibers are gentle against irritated skin and help reduce friction and chafing.
Unlike many fabrics that trap sweat and heat against the body, TENCEL™ is naturally moisture wicking and highly absorbent, helping pull excess moisture away from the skin to reduce the damp, clammy feeling that can worsen itching and irritation. The fabric also creates a natural cooling effect, making it especially helpful for heat-triggered flare ups and overnight wear.
Because of these properties, TENCEL™ clothing for eczema is often preferred for:
- eczema and psoriasis flare ups
- nighttime itching
- sweaty or overheated skin
- sensitive children and babies
- dry wrap and wet wrap therapy

UV Sun Protection
Our garments offer 35-50+ UV protection! Wear Remedywear to cover your fragile eczema skin when out in the sun and avoid harsh sunblocks that can cause further irritation. Remember to always wear sunscreen to protect any parts of the body not covered by our clothing.
Our soft, gentle clothing is not meant for play and should not replace surf/swim clothing meant for more aggressive use.

Dry Wrapping and Wet Wrapping with Remedywear™
Many people begin by simply wearing Remedywear garments dry underneath regular clothing or overnight as pajamas as this often provides substantial relief.
If additional support is needed during flare ups, the garments can also be used for:
- dry wrapping
- wet wrap therapy
Step 1: Wear Remedywear Alone
For mild to moderate irritation, simply wearing breathable therapeutic clothing may help reduce:
- friction
- sweating
- overheating
- nighttime itching and scratching
Step 2: Try Dry Wrapping
Apply moisturizer underneath the garments before wearing them. This helps lock hydration against the skin while protecting irritated areas.
Step 3: Try Wet Wrap Therapy
For more severe flare ups, Remedywear garments can also be worn damp as part of wet wrap therapy to provide more intensive moisture support.
This step-by-step approach allows many people to customize treatment based on the severity of their skin symptoms.
Safe for Babies, Children and Sensitive Skin
Remedywear fabrics, threads, and dyes are Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certified and rated safe even for newborns and babies.
The garments are also:
- latex free
- nickel free
- nylon free
- phenylenediamine free
- designed for allergy-prone skin
Because the zinc oxide remains embedded within the fibers, studies show it does not penetrate the skin or bloodstream, even when the skin barrier is compromised.
Full Transparency, How It’s Made
Remedywear™ is made from eco-friendly, natural fibers. Beechwood is processed into wood pulp in a closed-loop process. Then cellulose extracted from the wood pulp, a substance found in all raw plant material, is used to produce a smooth fiber called lyocell via a signature process with high resource efficiency and low ecological impact. That’s our first fiber, TENCEL™.

To produce our second fiber, Smartcel™ Sensitive, separate lyocell fibers are then embedded with medical-grade zinc oxide through a patented process where zinc powder is added to the natural wood pulp liquid. The solution is spun into fibers, cured in water, and then processed into staple fibers. The zinc physically becomes part of the fabric. This process ensures the zinc oxide stays in place even after many washings.
All liquids and water used in these processes are recycled and reused. 99.5% of the solvent is recycled, ensuring our products meet the highest environmental standards.
Finally, the two fibers (TENCEL™ + Smartcel™ Sensitive) are spun together, yarn is produced, and then knitted into fabric. And voilà! Soft, soothing Remedywear™ is born.

About Our Dyes
Natural white, undyed fabric gets discolored and dingy easily, especially when using natural laundry detergents and soaps, which is what we recommend. With Remedywear, we chose to offer materials in colors that will last, stay vibrant, and maintain a fresh look. Not all dyes are created equal, so we chose the very best. Our dyes are disperse-free, Phenylenediamine free, and Oeko Tex 100 certified, safe for allergies and sensitive skin. We still offer natural white fabrics for those that are opposed to dyes of any kind.

Frequently Asked Questions About Remedywear™
What is Remedywear made from?
Remedywear™ is a zinc infused clothing brand designed for people with eczema, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and sensitive skin. The garments are made with soft, cooling TENCEL™ fabric blended with zinc oxide fibers to help reduce irritation, improve comfort, and support sensitive skin.
What is zinc oxide fabric?
Zinc oxide fabric is textile material made with zinc oxide particles either coating fabric or embedded directly into the fibers. In Remedywear™, the zinc oxide is embedded and built into the fabric itself rather than coated on top, helping the benefits remain even after repeated washing.
Why is zinc oxide used in eczema clothing?
Zinc oxide is naturally anti bacterial and anti-inflammatory. It is commonly used in products for irritated skin because of its soothing and skin-protective properties. In zinc embedded clothing, zinc oxide may help support sensitive skin, reduce odor-causing bacteria, and improve comfort during eczema or psoriasis flare ups.
Is TENCEL™ good for eczema?
Yes. TENCEL™ is considered one of the best fabrics for eczema-prone skin because it is exceptionally soft, smooth, breathable, moisture wicking, and gentle against irritated skin. Many people find TENCEL clothing for eczema more comfortable than rough or synthetic fabrics and even cotton and silk.
What is Remedywear™ made from?
Remedywear™ is made from a blend of:
- TENCEL™ (aka lyocell and modal)
- Smartcel™ Sensitive zinc oxide fibers
- recycled latex-free elastane for stretch
The fabric is designed specifically for sensitive, itchy, and eczema-prone skin.
Can Remedywear™ help eczema and psoriasis?
Remedywear™ was designed to help support eczema-prone and psoriasis-prone skin by exposing it to therapuetic zinc oxide, reducing friction, overheating, sweating, and irritation from rough fabrics.
Clinical studies on the Smartcel™ Sensitive zinc oxide fiber blend showed improvements in itchiness, sleep quality, and eczema severity when worn overnight.
Is Remedywear™ safe for babies and children?
Yes. Remedywear™ fabrics, dyes, and materials are Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certified and safe for babies, children, and sensitive skin.
The garments are also:
- latex free
- nickel free
- nylon free
- designed for allergy-prone skin
Does the zinc wash out of the fabric?
No. The zinc oxide is embedded directly into the fibers instead of applied as a surface coating. Testing showed the fabric retained the majority of its zinc content even after one hundred and more washings.
Can you use Remedywear™ for dry wrapping?
Yes. Many people use Remedywear™ garments for dry wrap therapy by applying moisturizer underneath the clothing before wearing it overnight or during flare ups.
Dry wrapping helps keep moisture against the skin while protecting irritated areas from scratching and friction.
Can you use Remedywear™ for wet wrap therapy?
Yes. Remedywear™ garments can also be used for wet wrap therapy during more severe eczema flare ups.
Many people prefer trying the garments dry first because dry wrapping is often easier and less messy than wet wrapping.
Can I wear Remedywear™ with eczema creams or steroid creams?
Yes. Remedywear™ can be worn over moisturizers, emollients, and prescription creams as directed by your healthcare provider.
The garments help hold products against the skin while minimizing friction and scratching.
Is Remedywear™ good for nighttime itching?
Many people wear Remedywear™ overnight because the soft, breathable fabric helps reduce irritation, overheating, and scratching during sleep.
The form-fitting design also works well for dry wrapping and overnight moisture support as well as exposure to therapeutic zinc oxide.
How should I wash Remedywear™ clothing?
Machine wash on a gentle cycle using cool water and mild detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners.
You can tumble dry on low heat, though air drying may help extend the lifespan of natural fibers, so we recommend lying flat to dry.
Is Remedywear™ latex free?
Yes. Remedywear™ garments are latex free and made without nickel or harsh allergy-triggering materials commonly found in traditional clothing.
