100% Organic Cotton Scratch Mittens Top for Kids - Closed Mittens | Cotton Comfort

My child is 2 and from infancy had eczema on his hands and would scratch them to soothe. It was very distressing; I couldn’t keep his hands in the infant onesies with the hand covers because he could get his fingers out, and I couldn’t wrap his hands in bandages because he could get those off too (and it was unsafe for him to sleep with such hazards). He goes through phases and recently started picking his hands and fingers, badly, during his sleep. I would try to intervene but it would only wake and upset him. I was at a loss! I made my own version of this shirt by sewing cut adult socks on the end of a long sleeve onesie, but I am no seamstresses so I didn’t trust them to last long, so I had to find something else.

I LOVE these pajama tops. They give me such peach of mind and are helping so much! My son may attempt to rub his hands for a second and then the mitt portion quickly turns off his picking desire (during sleep, I stayed in his room to observe this happen). I wish I would have thought to search out something like this sooner. I was/am always so worried about his hands becoming infected and of course, the pain he is in.

The quality is great, albeit quite expensive. To me it’s for medial purposes so it is definitely worth the cost. I would like to purchase more when the other colors are available again in a two pack. I was desperate and paid to overnight these- they arrived promptly the next afternoon. I couldn’t recommend more. My mama heart and mental load feel so much lighter.

These are super soft and comfortable. They certainly cut down on the excoriation. They don't solve the entire problem by themselves, but definitely help. They’re a bit on the expensive side, and because they get dirty I wish I could afford to buy more and not launder so often. My son can get out of them if he really wants to but he gets the idea.

This shirt has been perfect to help my little one's itchy skin. It prevents him from scratching and breaking his skin.

I bought these 4 years ago for my first kid. As my 2nd kid wore them the sleeve disintegrated (aggressive itching). I bought more and THANK YOU for the update to these shirts! The part that disintegrated was the single layer around the wrist. You extended the double layer up closer to the elbow and now they are way more durable and effective. I forgot how soft these are brand new. I hate that I have to use these shirts for my babies, but I am so thankful they exist.

This is a great shirt! My son is six years old and has eczema on the back of his knees and inside of his elbows, he wakes up at night and scratches it bloody if we don’t stop him. The shirt is a soft cotton and the mittens are a double layer of cotton so they cannot scratch through them. He said that the shirt was comfortable and he was excited to wear it. He has worn it three times at night, and it definitely helps control the scratching. I think part of the problem at night is that once kids start scratching they can’t stop. The shirt makes it to where they can kind of still rub those spots, but they don’t do any damage and don’t get into that scratching frenzy. He did wake up a couple times feeling like he wanted it off because he wanted to scratch but we just helped calm him down and he went back to sleep. It’s expensive but I think it’s worth it for the protection it offers. I used the size chart and the size we ordered fit perfectly.

I purchased two of these for my 8 and 5 year old. It’s definitely helping reduce scratching at night. We have been using it for a week now and their eczema skin looks better for sure! True to size so don’t order big. I just wish the price was lower, so I could purchase more sets to use as backup when one goes to wash. Tooo expensive!

We have bought similar pjs but others allowed your hands to be free when you wanted hand access and covered when you don’t. These pjs are too confining. My daughter looked like she was in a straight jacket!

I was so excited for these but they fit small and the arms are super short. I felt like I was putting my daughter in a straight jacket lol. I suppose I’ll try to sell them to someone who has a younger child since I have zero use for them.

We ordered these tops as an alternative to the all in one footed scratch jammies as our child was beginning to outgrow those and didn’t really need the covered feet. These scratch mitten tops are great and allow me to wet wrap with gloves under the sewn in mitten. However, the arm length between the size 100 all in one pajama and the size 100 top is enormous. My child’s American size is approximately 5T, and I’d say the size 100 all in one pajama is roughly a 4/5. The scratch mitten top fits almost like an American size 8 in the sleeve length. The upside is they’ll last a long time. The downside is the shirt is very large on my child and therefore doesn’t really meet the snugness fire safety standard in the size I ordered.

This product is fantastic for my 2 year old who suffers from eczema. He has also developed a bad habit of picking at his scabs so the mittens have been a good deterrent. Although he is smart and figured out how to get himself out of the shirt by stretching the collar out. So now I have to layer the shirt with a button up on top and that way he can’t pull off the shirt and scratch. Oh the joys of toddlers 😂

The mittens pajama top help in some ways but the price is quite high.

This product is perfect to avoid toddlers scratching and making their eczema worse, specially at night. Wish it came as a onesie so I can button up at tue bottom, after using for a couple days my toddler figured out to remove one sleeve off his arm and scratch, then she aould out her arm back inaide the sleeve. The onesie bottom buttons would prevent this from happening. It also runs kind of big in size but the material is GREAT...overall very satisfied.

I'm 24 and have had eczema since I was a child. I have tried a number of approaches to cure my eczema (elimination diets, stronger topical medicated creams, antibiotics) but nothing has ever worked long-term. This is the first item that truly soothes my eczema. I've been wearing nightly for the last 3 weeks and already see a HUGE improvement in the my skin. I ordered the childs XL, which fits me perfectly (5'4'', 120 lbs)

I wish we would have bought this sooner for our son with very severe eczema. We use these shirts every night now to deter his constant scratching. We wash them multiple times per week and they are holding up well. Very soft material and fast shipping.

We have a child that is autistic and has severe eczema. This has been awesome for us to put her in to sleep so we can slather topicals and she doesn’t wipe off and doesn’t scratch. Thank you so much for having in sizes bigger than toddler. This has been a life saver for us!!!

So glad to have bought this pajama top. Our toddler has severe eczema and scratches A LOT in her sleep. I get little sleep because i was up all night trying to moisturize her and gently rub the itchy spots so she stopped scratching. After getting the top it has helped to keep her from scratching till she bled and has given both of us better nights sleep.

We purchased these because mittens over the hands were no longer working for our 10 month old. We even tried doubling his hand coverings with socks but he'd pull those off too. We tried those shirts with the sleeves that fold over the hands (with mittens underneath).. still managed to get out of those. I was desperate to find something to stop him from scratching at night and stop the constant waking and crying and finding a bloodied sheet and bloodied clothes the next morning. We purchased these and my God I wish I had them sooner. He will sleep through the night and if he does wake, he'll find he can't scratch himself so he'll put himself back to sleep. They're a life saver and totally worth the price

My older son has been suffering with eczema since he was a toddler. This top with mitten is the only clothing that prevents him from scratching until he bleeds. Highly recommended. I have been getting at least one packs from varies sizes. Hope this won’t get discontinued.

My kids both have autism and, in colder months, their hands become red, dry, cracked, itchy and painful. With their autism comes sensory challenges and they have a difficult time leaving any skin treatments on their hands overnight. These pajama tops have been wonderful for them! They can't wipe off product on their skin during the night, and they can't continue to itch or pick at their skin either. Both of my kids LOVE their mitten shirts because they are so soft - yet light enough for any season. These are a great option for kids like mine!
